Artist Statement My photography is born from an ongoing love affair with nature, complete with long beach walks, intense tree staring, and awkward moments with curious wildlife. Each image emerges from those magical moments when the landscape reveals something deeper than surface beauty, like waves performing their sunrise dance, raindrops clinging to leaves like tiny acrobats, or autumn staging one last dramatic farewell. For me, photography is artistic adventure, not mere documentation. I seek to capture not just what I see, but the emotion I experience in each moment.
My creative process begins with digital capture, often before dawn when the world holds its breath and light performs miracles. The way an image is captured sets its emotional foundation, but careful post-processing brings the image in line with the vision I held in that fleeting moment. My inner vision guides the entire process, from initial composition through final presentation. I specialize in Metal Prints using dye-sublimation technology, a process that infuses color directly into aluminum, creating works of art with exceptional depth and luminescence. Through my complete production process, from metal sublimation and fine art printing to archival matting and custom framing, I ensure each limited-edition piece reflects the emotion and clarity I intended. This artistic journey extends beyond still imagery through my nature videos on YouTube (@ctcosta), where I invite viewers into my creative process and document outdoor adventures that range from hiking along quiet rivers to navigating pre-dawn coastal dunes and traversing mountain trails in search of waterfalls and wonder. Both photography and video offer ways to preserve these encounters with nature and share them meaningfully with others. I extend an invitation to join this ongoing conversation with the natural world, to discover the profound beauty that emerges when we learn to truly see the extraordinary moments unfolding around us daily. In our fast-paced world, my images suggest we pause, breathe, and remember our place within the greater rhythm of earth and sky. Youtube Channel: @ctcosta |
